Introducing the New Dynamic Pricing Engine (DPE) by LegState

LegState is excited to introduce the new Dynamic Pricing Engine (DPE) – a next-generation tool to enhance how we calculate and manage complex, flight-specific charges.

The DPE replaces the previous Pricing Engine with a more robust, flexible solution that supports future scalability and capability expansion.

Here’s how it works:

The engine is automatically activated for each flight and charge type, requiring detailed, flight-specific “rates x quantities” calculations.

Once actual flight information is updated in Trip Record (via systems like Amadeus, Netline, and LIDO), the DPE receives all relevant flight parameters to perform accurate pricing.

The new engine is built in smartDOC and offers a modern User Interface (UI) and a comprehensive Application Programming Interface (API). These enable teams to define and process business rules intuitively and efficiently.

Key features include:

- Rules can be modeled visually, making setup and updates simple and transparent.

- Rules are reusable, allowing consistent application across simulations, analytics, and operational use.

- The UI has been significantly improved for a better user experience.

- The system is designed to support new capabilities we anticipate needing shortly.
